My Background
I’m a music producer, songwriter and recording engineer, and the founder of Creation X Recording.
I started out in music as a songwriter, performer and recording artist, so I’ve spent plenty of time on both sides of the desk. Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked across songwriting, recording, production and engineering, and all of that feeds into the way I work today. I understand how personal a song can be, particularly when it is still just an idea or something half finished. My job is to help bring it to life without losing what made it yours in the first place.
Through Creation X, I have worked with bands, solo artists and songwriters at different stages of their careers, helping them develop songs, performances and production from the earliest ideas through to the finished recording. Depending on what a project needs, that can involve songwriting, arrangement, vocal production, recording, engineering, artist development or full music production.
Over the years, I have worked on projects involving artists, songwriters and producers including Simon ‘Barny’ Barnicott, Guy Chambers, Pascal Gabriel, Paul Statham, Tim Cox, Tony McGuinness and Laurence Hobbs. I have also collaborated on projects for television advertising and film soundtracks.
My songwriting credits include co-written work with Richard Navarro on the Along The Lines album, Chris Constantinou on Jackonassid, and Kean Harris on his debut album. My production and engineering credits include Lindsay Batty Smith featuring Keziah, Veronica Drozdowski, also known as Vera Lis, One Eyed Man, The Tim Shez Band, Gemma Dorsett along with many other independent artists.
In 2020, I designed and built Creation X Recording as a professional hybrid analogue and digital studio in Berkshire. The studio and my work have since been featured by Mix and Working Class Audio.
I am a member of the Music Producers Guild, The Ivors Academy, as well as PRS for Music, MCPS and PPL.
For me, production is never about forcing an artist into a particular sound. It is about listening, understanding what makes them distinctive, and helping them create the strongest and most honest version of their music.
